Dyelicious - no more....

Most of you probably already know about my changes but I thought it was time to post on my poor neglected blog...

Dyelicious will be no more! We have decided to expand into a Bricks and Mortar plus full online store!

Welcome -

You can catch up on all of the news over on the new blog - tangled YARNS.

Our webstore can be found here (don't forget to sign up to the newsletter!) and feel free to join our Ravelry Group.

I want to thank everyone for the lovely comments left on the Dyelicious Blog, I honestly feel like I have made some wonderful friends over the years, it has been a pleasure sharing my addictions and my family with you all. I hope that you follow me over to tangled YARNS.

I get the feeling that 2009 is going to be a big one for us!!!

dropped off the radar...

for almost a month!!! Wow! I think that must almost be a record for me...

I'm still here but just a little busy at the moment! I have a few finished projects to post and an update or two to make but they all deserve posts of their own over the next few days.

For now, enjoy some yarn!

I hope this isn't spoiling the surprise for anyone, I think all parcels should have reached their new homes by now so...this was the February YarnCollective Sock Club Installment.

The base yarn is a divine cashmere / merino blend that is hard to put down! I hope is is enjoyed by all that joined us for February.

Baby Bell Bottoms

Another pair of baby pants done! (only two more to go...in under two weeks! eeekk!!!)

Pattern: Baby Bell Bottoms by Alison Hansel
Yarn: DHDY Worsted Merino in 'Summer'
Needles: US 6 / 4.0 mm
Started: January 19 2009
Finished: January 25 2009

Mods: shorter legs for summer capris, enclosed adjustable elastic and no drawstring.

Interesting construction and I love the little flared legs but I'm not sure I'd knit straight from the pattern...too lazy for all that seaming and whip stitching.

Sunny!

Another little Hybrid Spare Ribs Shoaker, this time for a friend who is due in the next couple of weeks. She bakes larger babies ;) so I added some extra stitches in to upsize a little.

I found the CP waistband to be fantastic for those early days when you need to fold the waist down away from the cord.

Simple cloud embellishment added to the ‘sunny’ background.

Pattern: Spare Ribs Shoaker by Rebecca Webster
Yarn: DHDY Worster Merino in 'Sunny'
Needles: US 3 / 3.25 mm, US 5 / 3.75 mm and US 6 / 4.0 mm
Started: January 10 2009
Finished: January 19 2009

Mods: Curly Purly waistband small size, added extra stitches to the side panels and legs to upsize from a newborn to a small soaker.

Coraline

It may seem as though I haven't been all that productive of late but I have been here, plodding away at a little secret knitting.

Pattern: Coraline by Ysolda Teague
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk in Kiwi
Needles: US 4 / 3.5 mm
Started: December 10 2008
Finished: January 18 2009

Mods: None

Had hoped to have it finished for my Grandmothers birthday last week but juggling it between the rest of my crazy life it just didn’t happen. Oh well…only a week late.

I enjoyed this from cast on to cast off - Ysolda’s patterns are always a delight to knit and her attention to detail is amazing. Must admit, my first attempt at smocking was great fun! (can we say 'knitting nerd'!?) And of course just the right selection of buttons to finish it off...

I am so happy with the finish project - now I want one for myself!

Friday Dyeday

Yes...I actually did some dyeing on a Friday - almost back into routine! But not yarn, a little more fabric.

My aim this time was for a very natural 'eco' look with a range of browns and a smokey gum tree green.

My cheeky little monkey can't resist the camera!

Isn't she pretty on!? Abby was most happy in her yesterday afternoon.

A little more dyeing...

While I had the dye pots out earlier in the week I decided to overdye some cotton from my stash for a little Autumn cardi for Abby. Yet to pick a pattern, will have to do some Ravely browsing.

I started this custom weeks ago and have only just managed to get it finished and re-skeined all ready to post! For something so simple it took several dye baths to get it the way that I wanted.

Down to one custom left on the to do list.
