Weekend Wrap Up and Rose of Sharon

We went on our first hike / bushwalk yesterday with both girls. We used to do this almost every weekend prior to me being pregnant and so sore with SPD...I've really missed it!

Some of the tracks we visited we hadn't been to since I was about 6 months pregnant with Jade (ok - yes, I must have been insane...there were LOTS of stairs which were very interesting with such a big belly!). Miss Abby was worn on my front in a baby carrier / sling and Jade walked most of the way, only resorting to Daddies shoulders towards the end. We must have walked close to 6klms by the end of the day! Not a bad effort at 3yrs old (and 5 weeks after giving birth for me!)

Lots of fun was had by all, Jade spent most of the day looking for fairies and she was just amazed by the waterfalls. So much fun to be had by watching leaves disappear over the edge after being dropped.

Also, a litte finished project - an adoable little sun hat for Abby.

Pattern: Rose of Sharon by Angela Hahn

Yarn: Hamanaka paume mukuwata knit (orgnic cotton)

Needles: US 3 / 3.25 mm
Started: October 21 2008
Finished: October 25 2008

Mods: Downsized to fit Abby (5 weeks) by using fingering weight yarn and 3.25mm needles.

Used 3 stitch icord instead of ribbon.

That's a nice place for a walk. We used to do a lot of outdoor activities but my teenage girls won't go anywhere (except shopping)now! What a pity!

Yep! Definitely ADORABLE! Everything you knit just looks sooooo perfect, and I am loving seeing all these baby knits.

Very good effort by you and Jade (and daddy for carrying Jade!). That sunhat is just beautiful!
